Functional Requirements
Our search and rescue platform would enable Incident Commanders and volunteers to share information allowing for fast and intuitive decisions. Incident Commanders need to know what volunteers are capable of while creating teams for a mission and offer valuable feedback on performance. Volunteers need to know specifics of the mission before they can decide if they are willing and able to offer their support. Volunteers would also benefit from guidance in managing their growth.
The system will ensure that new accounts are authenticated by appropriate SAR team members.
The system will create a rating system to allow easier choices for incident commanders to create teams and help improve volunteer’s skills.
In order to be successful SAR Incident Commanders, need to assign a volunteer to a reasonable task that a volunteer can accomplish given their experience or fitness limitations.
The system will supply information to volunteers to ensure they know mission specifications such as: where, when, how long, what to bring.
In order to help volunteers, attain goals, the system will help incident commanders create learning plans that include classes for certifications and training.
The system will create a fast and easy way to make choices when it comes to team creation. It will do this by relying heavily on symbology and pictures.
The system will have two options for signing up, one for the incident commander/leader and one for the volunteer.
In the onboarding, the system will ask relevant questions in order to note the certifications and skills of the volunteer or the SAR leader so that later on it can match the right volunteers to the right mission through machine learning.
The system may have equipment management feature by the use of RFID tags or sensors which can help in the resource management.
The system can have gamification to track the progress of the users. Badges/Awards/Recognition can be a part of feature.
The system can have a member profile page to showcase the skills, certifications, and Progress of the users.
The system will have a way to for the incident commander to recommend equipment to members.
The system will allow incident commanders to evaluate team members based on their performance .
The system will allow incident commanders to see the profiles of his team, as well as people from another team that have come to help as well.
